How much do they weigh? Each earring weighs between 1 - 3.5 grams (that's SUPER lightweight). In fact, my warning to everyone is to make sure you use the backs that come with them. I have had one literally fly out of my ear on a windy day!
What are they made of? Believe it or not, they are made of 300gsm cold press watercolor paper (some recycled and some new), adhesive and polycrylic. The earring pieces are plated sterling silver and 18kt gold.
Paper? Won't they disintegrate? Nope! They are created by using adhesive to glue multiple layers of the thick paper together and then dipped at least twice in a water soluble polycrylic (better for the environment) and dried to a waterproof, sturdy and brilliant finish. Many people actually think they are metal when they complement them in my ears.
What if they get wet? No worries! I have sprayed mine intentionally to make sure they can stand up to water. So, don't let the rain or snow stop you from looking fabulous!
Why aren't the smaller ones cheaper? Unfortunately, the smaller ones are actually more difficult to make.
Why don't you every have sales? Actually, selling them at $25 is on sale from my planned price point of between $35 - $45 while I grow the brand awareness. At $25 a pair, my margins are super tight.
Are they really hand painted and completely unique? Definitely. That is my favorite part of this whole process. While earrings from the same painting piece may look similar, rest assured that there will NEVER be another pair exactly like yours!
What if I get them and I truly hate them? You would be the first, (I get messages daily from people who order online and love their earrings even more in person than they did in the web imagery!) but I get it. Reach out to me and I'll make sure to make it right for you.
