Families are a funny thing...they are our rock. They are what we build our life on and for. They are the people that we love and that also make us crazy. We hold them close and we push them away. What a conundrum! That said, if your family is anything like mine, you wouldn't trade them for the world and you know that at the end of the day, there are no other people in the world that you would rather be with.
That said, I also know that tomorrow's memories are being made today, as my kids get just a little bigger with every passing moment. My oldest son barely fits in my lap anymore and that makes me want to snuggle him even tighter when he does weasel his way into it. I treasure the images of when they were small and snuggly, and I know that in a few years, I will treasure the images that I make sure to have taken today. The funny thing about time is that in the moment, it's usually moving pretty slowly; but as each year passes, it's amazing how quickly it's gone.
When I take family portraits, I do so with these facts in mind. You will be hard pressed to find another family photographer who will be more patient with your children, more laid-back with your grumpy husband (or not) and more expert at posing Mom so that she looks her best. I have studied and perfected this art because I know what it feels like to get portraits back and feel that they don't capture you or your family in your best light. I shoot both posed, smiling and camera aware images, as well as more planned and interactive images to capture your family as it truly is. Family sessions include family photos, images of children with each individual parent, individual images of the children and even headshots for Mom and Dad should you so choose. I shoot in this manner to ensure all of my clients have their memories captured forever...because as we all know, we aren't guaranteed tomorrow.
Pictures are memories. Photographs are artwork. Portraits are your Legacy.
